   Rovaniemi

   Tervetuloa! Welcome to Finland. Your adventure starts with a welcome meeting at 4 pm today in Rovaniemi – the gateway to Finnish Lapland and official hometown of Santa Claus. If you arrive early, maybe check out the Angry Bird themed playground, explore interactive exhibits on northern forests at the Science Centre Pilke or simply unwind in a steamy sauna. After your meeting, head out for an optional group dinner in town and get to know your fellow travellers.
   It’s very important that you attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting insurance details and next of kin information at this time. If you are going to be late, please let your travel agent or hotel reception know. Ask reception or look for a note in the lobby for more information on where the meeting will take place.
2. Tag 2

   Rovaniemi

   <
   This morning, you’ll visit a local family-run reindeer farm that’s been operating since 1861. Here, maybe feed and watch these beautiful animals go about their daily routine and learn about reindeer herding. The rest of the day is then free for you to explore Rovaniemi at your own pace – maybe visit the Rovaniemi Art Museum or cross the arctic circle and visit Santa Claus Village. Tonight, maybe find a local restaurant for dinner – your leader will have the best recommendations!
   Please also note that reindeer wander freely around the countryside and only come to the farm to feed. There is a possibility that some of the herd are roaming elsewhere on the day of our visit. Entrance to Santa Claus Village is free however activities inside cost extra and can be paid locally.
3. Tag 3

   Levi

   This morning, travel to Halipuu Forest. When you arrive, meet the family that owns the land and hear about their efforts to spread awareness of nature conservation and save the trees from being cut down. Hug a few trees before being wrapped in a hammock for a Finnish experience of arctic cocooning. After, sit down for a warm cup of hot chocolate and lunch around a fire – lunch will be lapp-dogs (reindeer sausages wrapped in bread dough), roasted on the campfire. Later, return to Levi for the night and make sure to keep an eye out for any hint of the Northern Lights.
   Northern Lights viewing may be possible on all nights of this trip, however, is always dependent on weather conditions.
4. Tag 4

   Levi

   Make sure you rug up for today’s adventures, as you head out to meet sled dogs! In the morning, meet your guides and dogs for an introduction to basic mushing techniques. These incredible huskies are doing what they love most – making a lot of noise before rushing along sprawling trails through the forest. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Levi at your own pace. Maybe try your hand at ice fishing with a guided tour, race down the snowy slopes (weather depending) on sleds or join your fellow travellers for dinner at a local restaurant – a great way to celebrate your last night in Lapland.
